Kickers FA Versus Mazugal FC: Review

In a display of raw talent and tactical discipline,Kickers Football Academy tore apart the resistance of Mazugal FC with two unreplied goals, one coming in each half. The match which toook place at the Kano Pillars Stadium in Sabon Gari Kano, lived up to its billing as the beautiful display by the players put together by the the academy in Kano.

The first half kicked off in brilliant fashion as Haruna led the attack of the lively academy boys.On the stroke of one minute, left back Yautai floated in a cross towards Haruna but the goal keeper gathered the ball to ward off the the first wave of attack. One long kick after another by the Mazugal FC defence made life difficult for them,as the opposing midfield comprising of hard tackling Abdullahi, calm Sagir, and the creative Toro, controlled the game with sleek passing and movement.

With solid displays by the Kickers FA back four led by center halfs Murtala and Ali,it was one way traffic with goal keeper Ambrose called to duty on one scary moment in the course of  a counter atack by the opposition.A long ball caught the defence napping and Ambrose rushed  out to clear the mess which eluded him.Libero Murtala chased the ball all the way as it bounced in the eighteen yard box and off the cross bar, before he cleared with his left foot for a throw in.

On the attack Mustapha stylishly gained a few free kicks without a goal coming. The deadlock was broken on the half hour mark as Haruna controled the ball in the penalty area, before slamming his shot beyond the helpless keeper.

The Second half continued in the same fashion as the four three three formation/four five one formation of Kickers FA  proved too hot for Mazugal FC to handle.Coach made a few changes and they revitalised the approach by piling pressure on the opposition. The game wore on to a red card incident as the top nine of Mazugal FC elbowed Ali the center half.Reduced to ten men,the players tackled roughly but this led to persistent attacks culminating in Haruna missing a sitter, after a through ball from the ouside right.Ghaddafi was impressive bursting down the right flank to terrorize the tiring players.

Late in the second half,Toro latched on to a ball across goal by placing it in the roof to the left of the keeper, to give Kickers FA a well deserved two goal lead.Toro ran the defence ragged with deft touches to the delight of the crowd in attendance and an agressive defender lunged at him two footed to bag the second red card of the exciting encunter. From then on it was one way traffic as the young boys of the academy proved too hot for Mazugal FC to handle.

KICKERS FOOTBALL ACADEMY KANO

The Kano Pillars stadium turf in Sabon Gari Kano is lush green,a synthetic pitch specialists expect to last a period of about ten years, yes ten.Yesterday young players from some northern states took to the astro turf in the pyramid city. This is a step taken by Kano State Government,in conjunction with  Kickers Football Academy.A team of  five coaches from  around the country are in Kano preparing youths for career chalenges in football.

Firts on the agenda is selecting  a team of 24 players out of a pool of close to 100,within  two weeks. Each spot on the team is a step towards  the 2010 edition of the Grimoldby Cup in Soweto South Africa later this year.I look at every bit of time spent with the  players and the coaching crew,as a great opportunity to forge a partnership for excellence in the  game  of football.Certainly I enjoyed  the workouts because more knowledge and fitness has been added to me in this period of screening. That's a challenge for each of us and I desire to help the team in any capacity of the playing staff.

Yes the team has four departments, namely the management, the defence, the  midfield, and the attack. My job is to fill a role in any playing department, especially central midfield. This will help the team to have a good organization and playing pattern instilled by the  management and technical  crew.Asides all these, the training is paramount to success.I was exhausted for  a while but I managed to pull through the sessions  so far  by giving it my  best shot for the team to excel.Football is a team game that thrives on the technical and tactical division of labour. If each player can do his duty for the sake of the  team,we will achieve alot with the materials we have.

The coaches are good men. They spent good time giving players  instructions on technical aspects of the game. After implementing them they worked.I'm a better player and individual for this.Today after day seven, for me it is an adventure that  will last for as long as it lasts. Let the world watch out. It's a tournament serving as a microcosm of the world cup which took  place  this year in Nelson Mandela's country.
